Launches in stores 15th March 2017.

Rimmel London is always ahead of the game when it comes to releasing innovative beauty products; the latest to launch is the new Volume Shake Mascara. The clever technology behind this breakthrough revolution in the makeup industry makes this a truly unique system. The patented shaker system means that it refreshes the volumising formula whenever it is needed. Gone are the days where half-used or dried up mascaras are thrown away!

Aesthetically, the 9ml khaki green bottle features gold lettering and feels surprisingly heavier than a standard mascara bottle however, this could be due to the shaker system inside. So far the mascara is only available in black but I would hope to see a brown shade released soon. The waterproof mascara is smudge-proof and the staying power is great as it stays put majority of the day. It removes easily with a good cleanser (I normally double cleanse my skin) or a eye makeup remover.

The oval shaped brush features close-together fibres which reaches from the inner to outer corners of the lash line and from root to tip. The flexible fibres volumises and separates the lashes for a defined and clump-free appearance. The little bristles comb and fan out the lashes. To apply the mascara, Rimmel London recommend shaking the bottle vertically three to five times so the product is immediately refreshed and ready for use. The lusciously smooth product glides onto lashes effortlessly, grabbing each lash, separating and lifting them for a wide-eyed, volumised result. One coat provides a natural look while applying two or three coats gives a more dramatic look. The fluted cap means that mascara wand feels comfortable to hold and no awkward, fiddling around trying to grab those lashes.

I would recommend the Volume Shake Mascara for those who are looking to add an ‘omph’ to their lashes; giving a volumised appearance, separation for an open-eyed look and no horrid clumps on the lashes. The purse-friendly mascara with its innovative shaker system means it will last a long time and a simple shake of the mascara will refresh the product whereas, the standard mascara dries over time. All in all, it’s a thumbs up from me. It gives volume, separation, no clumps and the staying power means it lasts all day.

The Volume Shake Mascara is available at most high street beauty stores and online. Is this a mascara you’d try? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section.
