I am a lover of nude eyeshadow palettes. There’s no doubt about that. I have a small collect of eyeshadow palettes and they are all pretty much nude shades (maybe the odd bright, bold palette). For me, they are so versatile in that they suit any eye colour especially hazel eyes, creates soft day time looks and great for smoky eye night time looks. I love the different combinations and looks that can be created from one palette whether it’s a soft wash of colour or a deep sultry look. When I saw this new palette from Revolution Pro pop up on my Instagram feed, I knew I needed it in my collection.
Part of the New Neutral Collection, Revolution Pro has released this this beautiful 18 pan eye shadow palette which retails for £12. It houses an array of colours including pretty pinks, golds, and burgundies as well as different textures including matte, reflective, pearl and glitter pigments. It’s not the typical “nude” palette per se which usually consists of various shades of brown however, it’s refreshing to see a palette like this this with different shades such as soft pinks and burgundies which adds a twist to the traditional nude palette. I was pleasantly surprised to see a cream base (bottom left pan) which is designed to prolong the wear of eyeshadow. It certainly prolonged the eyeshadow and gives a decent amount of coverage.
The gold packaging features a leopard print design with the Revolution Pro logo on the front and includes a mirror inside. The packaging itself is traditional to the other Revolution Pro palettes which is a card-like material. The palette comes with a protective box and upon opening, there is a protective plastic film over the eyeshadow pans inside.
Now onto the eyeshadows! The eyeshadows are very pigmented so a little on your brush goes a long way (if you do put too much on, you can always tap your eyeshadow brush on the side of the palette so any excess falls back into the pan). There is a little kick-back with the eyeshadows but this is minimal. They are very high quality and considering the price-point, they are not only affordable but remind me of the same quality of high end eyeshadow palettes. This palette features two glitter eyeshadows in a red and gold shade. In the past, these have always been a hit or miss with me as most of them have been a Vaseline-type consistency with minimal glitter but I do like to wear glitter especially at Christmas or the New Year! However, these do not disappoint! They are a creamy consistency packed with glitter which is really lovely. It’s almost like dipping your brush into a jar of glitter! I’m really excited to wear these for the festive season!
Please bear in mind that skin tone and different monitors can lead to variations in swatches. I have tried my upmost to keep these swatches true to their shades.
The palette also features reflective and pearl textures which I really like too. They take matte eyeshadows and make them look completely different. For instance, I like the shade “Delight” which is a soft pink, but add a little “Magic” (see what I did there?) which is a pearl texture and it makes the pink shade look dewy and fresh-looking. Overall, I am really pleased with this palette. Not only is it affordable but it has some incredibly beautiful shades.
