For the little puppy in your life, these little breakfast bites are nutritious, healthy, easy and quick to make but importantly, a much cheaper alternative as they use ingredients found in your kitchen pantry (some dog recipes require more specialist ingredients which can become pricey). The recipe makes a batch of 24 breakfast bites. I like to keep these fresh by storing them in Tupperware. I half the batch by putting some in the freezer so I always have some ready to hand. Ben adores these little breakfast bites! He has one in a morning but can also be used as a pre-bedtime supper for your pooch.
- 2 ripe bananas
- 60g peanut butter
- 680g rolled oats
- 60g raw honey
- Preheat the oven to 220º and line two baking trays with greaseproof paper and set to one side.
- Start off by peeling and mashing the 2 bananas (I found a blender helpful for this part) until they are a liquid consistency. Next add the peanut butter and honey and mix until fully incorporated.
- Pour in the rolled oats and mix with a wooden spoon. The mixture will start to become heavy and have a sticky, dough like consistency. Once the mixture is fully combined, begin to take small pieces (around the size of a golf ball) and roll into a ball and place onto the lined baking tray.
- Cook the breakfast bites for 20 minutes and once ready, leave on a wire rack to cool before serving to your pup!
