Welcome to August’s edition of Read, Watch, Listen! This series celebrates fabulous content that I have been enjoying and think you will enjoy too! In each edition, I will share three things that you can either read, watch or listen. You can read the first post I did here.
I have finished reading Blood and Sugar by Laura Shepard-Robinson and it is absolutely thrilling! If you are looking for a historical crime book to read then this is the one for you. It’s one of those books that keeps you guessing and the plot is absolutely brilliant! If you’d like to know more about this book, I did a review which you can read here.
I have been loving Stranger Things! I finally caught up with season 3 (don’t worry I won’t share any spoilers!) However, season 3 does end in a thrilling cliff hanger! It’s one of those series that you cannot stop watching and then Netflix pops up with the “Are You Still Watching?” notification – yes, I’m on a binge session! I would recommend this series to anyone who likes spooky dramas that lean a little towards the horror side.
I enjoy listening to podcasts and one of my recent discoveries is Kikki K Your Dream Life podcast. Their recent episode Dr Tererai Trent: Building a Better Future for the Children of Zimbabwe, Working Towards Equality & Dreaming Big is so inspiring. The episode is recorded in Dr Tereai Trent’s home village of Matau in rural Zimbabwe and gives an insight into Tereai Trend International Foundation which aims to help change the future of children in these poor, rural areas, help empower women and provide access to education regardless of gender or socioeconomic background. It is a really inspiring episode and I would highly recommend listening to hear all about the amazing work and progress that has been made. It is so heartwarming to listen to.
So, that’s it for this month! I hope you’ve found some lovely new content to enjoy whether you prefer to listen or to read. I’ll be sharing three more things in my next Read, Watch, Listen series next month! In the meantime, tell me what lovely content you’ve been enjoying recently in the comments section below!
