Christmas with Wrendale Designs [AD]

This post contains gifted items from Wrendale Designs which have been marked in line with my disclaimer.

Embracing the country style; I adore cards and gift wrap that reflect this. Artist Hannah Dale who runs Wrendale Designs, a homeware and stationary design business based in rural Lincolnshire, paints beautiful characterful wildlife from snoozing foxes to smiling donkeys that reside near her country home – featuring on a range of rustic homewares from mugs to cushions and more. I first discovered Wrendale Designs when I purchased the Country Set book from a National Trust shop when I was visiting Norfolk. The wonderfully painted illustrations capture the personality and character with exquisite detail and warmth.

During the festive season when all the house is decorated and the fairy lights are twinkling, I have an armchair in the living room or as I call my “snug” is swathed with cosy blankets and Christmas cushions and from here, I can curl up with a good book, watch a movie, write my Christmas cards and generally hibernate keeping topped up with freshly baked mince pies and mugs of hot chocolate sprinkled with marshmallows. It is the most comfortable and cosy armchair. When I’m in my snug, I like to prepare my Christmas evening by stocking up on drinks and nibbles. I’ll gather the necessities such as stamps, pens, wrapping paper, gift tags, ribbons and so on then snuggle down with a Christmas movie or listen to carols. It’s one of the many ways I enjoy a cosy winter evening.

The Christmas range features a charming array of cards from single relations to general cards including box sets, decorations, gift wrap and bags, Christmas stationery and napkins perfect for Christmas day or a festive supper. The range has been designed to co-ordinate and work well together theme-wise so whether you prefer the festive stag or the jolly robin, each piece can be matched perfectly or match various designs for a unique look. You can view the whole Christmas range here.

From the general Christmas card range, these cards are perfect to send a little Christmas cheer to a loved one or a special friend. These cards are printed on high quality, textured board which gives a luxurious and opulent feel. Each card is decorated with gold script lettering with lovely quotes such as “star of wonder”. Inside the cards reads: “Merry Christmas” and includes lovely holly berry illustrations. Each card is sealed in cellophane and comes with a craft envelope with the Wrendale Designs logo embossed in gold on the back. As these are general cards, they can be sent to anyone but if you’re looking for specific relation cards, Wrendale offer these too (here). There is something truly heart-warming gazing at these illustrations, whether its the colours used or how Hannah Dale has captured their characterful appearance is something I will never tire of.

Presented in a beautiful wallet made from the same board as the cards themselves, these box cards are ideal for sending multiple Christmas cards, maybe for colleagues, school/college or neighbours. Complete with gold foil script lettering with the quote “Merry Christmas!” and craft envelopes, these beautifully illustrated cards are every inch a little festive luxury. Each box is supplied with eight cards nestled snuggly inside the wallet design and features the same illustration on the front. Inside reads: “With best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.” The cards measure 120mm square.

For a fragile gift or to add a little splendour, a gift box is the ideal option and can be doubled up as a storage box afterwards. This could be perfect for a female recipient as they could use the box to store makeup, nail polishes or general bits and bobs. Not only does it protect the gift inside but adds a touch of extravagance. Wrendale Designs offers a range of gift boxes with various illustrations and sizes including small, medium, large and extra-large. With an eye for detail, these sturdy gift boxes feature the wonderful illustrations both inside and out with a matte texture. This stag design echoes country style and with a little red twine will add a touch of festiveness.

Present wrapping has to be one of my favourite past-times. All the elements from choosing the wrapping paper to picking the perfect ribbon encompasses my affection for colour, design and that wonderfully warming feel of giving gifts to loved ones. The wrapping paper from Wrendale Designs features the delightfully illustrated wildlife characters such as this robin paper punctuated with holly berries and evergreen wreath illustrations. With a nod towards country style, I added beige gingham ribbon and tied in cinnamon sticks, evergreen and pine cones. The wrapping paper is ideal to work with as it has a certain thickness making it easy to fold and gain a professional appearance. Each sheet measures 700mm by 500mm which is plenty for wrapping gifts. Double-sized with beautiful colour and design, this wrapping paper is almost too pretty to tare! The matching gift tags are made of the same board as the Christmas cards and come with natural twine to attach to the gifts.

For small gifts, a gift bag and tissue paper is ideal as it protects the gift and looks rather pleasing to the eye. With a selection of various sizes and illustrations from snoozing foxes to a proud stag with bauble decorated antlers, Wrendale Designs has something to offer. Complete with a red ribbon to keep the gift secure, a little tag with the same jolly robin illustration and holly berry on a red background, this gift bag echoes Christmas in the countryside. I popped in a little tissue paper to keep the gift secure and as it’s fragile; will protect it too. The pack of tissue paper includes four sheets with charmingly illustrated characters (this one features the classic stag design).
